Located in Vigo, Northwest coast of Spain, Metalships & Docks S.AU., is a shipyard devoted to New Building and Ship Repairs, which offers a strategic location for all the vessels operating between North Europe and Africa, without the need for costly deviation. The company is part of the RODMAN GROUP
About the shipbuilding division, Metalships has established over recent years the most challenging projects and is a Shipyard fit to tackle them in the most efficient and timely manner. Good planning, excellent project management, careful logistics control and impeccable timely execution are the strengths that have made Metalships a worldwide reference for special and complex ships.
Along these years, there have been several successful buildings, such as the Sea Cloud Spirit, a three-mast full-rigged ship; offshore vessels such as the North Sea Giant, support vessel of the year 2012 and other passenger, fishing and yachting vessels.
The Ship Repair Division of Metalships has been working uninterruptedly for over 30 years, offering proactive and holistic solutions based on establishing long term relationships with owners and operators from all over the world. In fact, these strong and healthy relationships have allowed to gain a world-wide reputation for quality, reliability and timely delivery for planned and emergency repairs and upgrades to a wide range of vessel types: offshore vessels, containers, reefers, tankers, bulkers, LPG’s, fishing vessels, ferries, yachts, tugboats, etc. The high number of repeat customers reflects the high quality of workmanship and schedule adherence of the shipyard.
Working in very close cooperation with the powerful auxiliary naval industry of Vigo (city with a great tradition in everything concerning the naval industry and maritime world) and with the class societies (all of them located in Vigo), there is no ship repair job that cannot be performed or managed by Metalships, with no need to send any equipment outside the Vigo area, which saves, in consequence, transport costs and reduces delivery time.
As a fully integrated shipyard equipped with state-of-the-art technology and excellent docking conditions, Metalships offers a comprehensive portfolio of services in the areas of repairing, refurbishment, converting, lengthening, servicing and refitting of all types of vessels – from maintenance tankers, passengers, Ro-Ro’s or general cargo ships and dredgers to historic boats and ships like the schooner “Xarifa”.
